As a wedding photographer, I have had the privilege of capturing many beautiful moments in people's lives. One wedding that really stood out for me was a recent one that I shot in Cape Town. What made this wedding so special was the amazing couple I had the pleasure of working with.
From the moment I met the bride and groom, I knew that they were going to be wonderful to work with. They were open to all of my suggestions and were just a joy to be around. As a photographer, it's always a pleasure to work with clients who are willing to try new things and trust your creative vision.
The location of the wedding was also quite unique. We were in one of the oldest vineyards in Cape Town, and it was autumn, so all of the vineyard leaves were this beautiful amber colour. The scenery was breath taking, and there were so many different spots to take amazing photos.
One small tale from the wedding day that I remember fondly was when the bride and groom made a special video thanking all of the service providers at the wedding. It was a really touching moment and just showed how much they appreciated everyone's hard work.
When it comes to photographing weddings, I always have a few specific shots in my head that I want to capture, but I also like to be spontaneous and take advantage of any interesting opportunities that present themselves. That's how 95% of all weddings work, you have to be quick on your feet and adapt to changing circumstances.
Overall, what I enjoyed most about this wedding was the wonderful couple I was working with. They were open, enthusiastic, and willing to try anything I suggested. And the venue was just stunning, providing endless opportunities for creating beautiful images.
The wedding took place near sunset, which is always the best time of day to take photos with the bridal couple. And my favourite shot from the day was when the bride and groom had their veil over their heads, and a slight sunburst shone through, creating a magical effect on the bride's face.
All in all, this was a truly unforgettable wedding, and I feel so lucky to have been a part of it
