Dancer captured frozen in time | Portrait Photography

Roland C photography recently had the pleasure of capturing the portrait of a skilled dancer. As a photographer, I understand that being in front of the camera can be intimidating, and I make it a priority to create a relaxed environment for my clients. Fortunately, this dancer was a professional and had no qualms about being in front of the camera, making the shoot a breeze.

One thing that immediately stood out about this dancer was his incredible acrobatic skills. I knew I wanted to capture him in motion, frozen in time to showcase his exceptional talent. As the shoot progressed, I was thrilled to see the dancer perform new moves with every shot, making it a dynamic and exciting experience.

As a photographer, I typically have a shot list in my head, but I also love to work collaboratively with my subjects and allow them to express themselves. In this case, I simply asked the dancer to perform as many high jumps as possible, and the results were stunning.

When it comes to location, I prefer to use studio lights to highlight my subject. However, the most important aspect is the subject itself. This dancer's skills were so exceptional that the setting was secondary to capturing their movement and artistry.

The most iconic photo from this shoot is one that captured the dancer in mid-air, resembling a human in flight. This shot perfectly encapsulates the dancer's skill and grace, and it's no surprise that it has become a fan favourite.

Working with skilled and enthusiastic subjects makes portrait shoots a joy, and this experience with the dancer was no exception. I look forward to capturing more portraits of talented individuals in the future.
