I am Roland C, a Cape Town-based photographer with a passion for capturing the essence and beauty of food in my images. One of my projects during lockdown was a homemade pasta photoshoot, where I decided to make my own pasta and experiment with different styles and angles to achieve a high-end food magazine look.
I thoroughly enjoyed the process of making my own pasta and styling it to showcase its unique shapes and sizes. As a photographer, I aim to highlight the best features of my subjects and capture its uniqueness. In this case, I wanted to showcase the handmade quality of the pasta and its beauty.
My goal was to achieve a real TV look. To accomplish this, I played around with different light and positions to make the pasta look interesting and captivating.
As someone who is always looking for the perfect shot, I had a specific shot list in my head and specific shots that I knew would work. The end result was an iconic photo of all the different pastas stacked on top of each other, beautifully capturing the essence of the homemade pasta and its unique characteristics.
Overall, I am passionate about food photography and dedicated to my craft, and my homemade pasta photoshoot is a testament to my creative vision and technical skills.
