I loved doing the photographic shoot of this beautifully appointed AirBnB because all the furnishings are high-quality and everything was put together so perfectly and then topped off by the beautiful view of Table Mountain. Cape Town was voted the Best City in the world by tourists in 2024 and not without reason. This well postioned unit offers international tourists (and locals) the best accommodation imaginable because it is so close to the City Basin and that is exactly where you want to be if you want to have the Cape Town experience, especially if it’s your first visit to the Mother City.

Yasthil and Priyal surprise proposal shoot - Camps Bay
Last Saturday evening I got a call from Dan, who is the events Coordinator at The Bay Hotel here in Cape Town. She was in a little bit of a hurry to get a photographer for the next day, because her client wanted someone to capture his proposal the next day, on Camps Bay beach. Dan and the staff from The Bay Hotel set up a little special spot on the beach where Yasthil was going to propose to his girlfriend Priyal. There was a few special photos of the couple printed out, and hanged up under an umbrella....a trip down memory lane for Priyal to look at when she got to the spot.
I was sitting a few meters away from the special picnic spot on the beach, pretending to be a tourist with a big camera on the beach. As soon as they were approaching the picnic spot, I started snapping away, making sure I don’t want to miss a moment. Everything went according to plan….
After Priyal said yes, and took a few sips of champagne, we did a quick couple shoot on the beach. Was very cool to share this special moment with the couple and to capture this special moment for them forever to look back on.
