CONTEMPORARY MINAMALISM AT ITS BEST
This amazing “HOTEL” is situated in the heart of Sea Point, one of the best loved areas in historical Cape Town which has recently been voted the BEST CITY IN THE WORLD! It is nestled between the foot of Lion’s Head Mountain and the Atlantic Seaboard. This is not your run of the mill hotel. It hosts several lxury Air BnB studio apartments with easy acces to the pool deck facing the Atlantic Seaboard. Guest are welcome to enjoy breakfast at the Juno Restaurant which has received great reviews. The interesting architecture of the Tropicana Hotel has an Art Deco feel to it which makes it stand out and visible from afar. It certainly is not a relic from the past but it somehow blends in perfectly between oldy worldy architecture and contemporary.
The Hotel is walking distance to the beach and the promenade which is well supported by local early morning and late afternoon joggers, strollers and cyclers. You’ll never feel lonely in Seapoint because when the weather is good (and that’s more often than not) everybody is out for a walk, young and old! And then there are the seagulls who announce their presence with loud gusto!
What’s great about the position of the Tropicana is that it is surrounded by loads of interesting shops, restaurants, coffee shops, Bagel Café’s and what not. Sea Point is not a quiet place but a husstling and busstling place where seagulls make their shrill presence known as often as they can. But this is what Cape Town City Bowl is all about and neighbouring Seapoint is a close second to that. Seapoint is one of my favourite places exactly because of this. To me, Sea Point captures the unique atmoshpere of something between a suburb and a city. Like New York, it is truly unique in its character.
