This property is located in Cape Town and has one of the most magnificent views of the entire Cape Peninsula. It is situated right on top of a hill overlooking Cape Town City, Robben Island and majestic Table Mountain.

The selling point of the beautiful architecturally designed house is definitely the magnificent view and cleverly designed interior space which displays stunning views from just about each and every room of the house.

In my opinion the most intriguing room is definitely the beautifully furnished lounge with its designer fire place and magnificent panoramic view of Table Mountain and Cape Town. The homeowner added an unusual extra factor namely an indoor cinema which puts this house in a class of its own.

I chose to do the photography in a way which would showcase the entire house as well as its amazing interiors and views. I normally approach a house with a specific ‘shot’ list in mind when shooting a house. For this house my ‘shot’ list was slightly different. I tried to capture the space and layout of the house to show the stunning views to its maximum. The architect made sure to show off the view from each room in the entire house – from the living areas to the guest bedrooms including the seating areas, the well equipped kitchen, the designer bar area, the office/study as well as the swimming pool area – all with magnificent views of the entire Cape Town Peninsula. I always try to showcase what the architect tries to showcase with his design.

As far as I’m concerned, portraying the beautiful view when one wakes up in the morning with the magnificence of the rising sun in full view, is the most iconic photo of this property. The sunrise showering its full glory over the entire Cape Town, Table Mountain and the Atlantic Ocean is just incredible!

I would have preferred to do the photo shoot early in the morning but since I was not able to select the time of day, it had to be done midmorning.

I loved photographing this amazing property. I have seldom before had the privilege to photograph a house with such an astonishing view. And that is exactly what I enjoyed most about photographing this house, its magnificent view!
